Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I join NAUEP if I have been certified through another certifying body?
Yes. We welcome etiquette experts who have taken the steps to master their skills. Individuals
not certified through NAUEP can become a member after completing their application and successfully
passing the NAUEP Basic Etiquette Exam.
2. What is the difference between the National Association of Urban Etiquette Professionals (NAUEP) and
other etiquette organizations?
NAUEP is a certifying body for not only etiquette, but also debutante, pageantry and life skills
training for children and youth specifically designed to address issues in urban communities.
NAUEP also offers faith-based training for churches and community-based organizations. Finally,
NAUEP offers ongoing certification opportunities and robust networking for consultants
to connect and grow.
3. How do I maintain my membership?
To be an active member of NAUEP, members are required to maintain their certification by
attending three classes annually to stay-up to date on industry trends and new rules surrounding
etiquette.
-
Ethics in Consulting
-
NAUEP Branding and the National Etiquette Movement
-
The Business of Etiquette
Additionally, consultants must be current on their annual membership dues.
4. What if I miss my renewal date, can I still be a member?
Each year on your etiquette anniversary, NAUEP will remind you to renew. You will be given one
month to renew, after which you will be assessed a $75.00 reinstatement in addition to the annual
renewal fee.
5. If I take a certification with NAUEP, do I have to pay a membership fee?
When you register for a certification, it includes a one-year membership, but you do have to take the Basic
