Community Partnership at Work

In Southwest Dallas, the DeSoto Public Library is a touchstone for youth in the community providing the largest yearly expo in the area, the Everything Teen Expo serving 5,000 youth annually, and an additional 20,000 youth yearly through interactive reading programs, and community partnerships.

Beginning January 19, 2019, students residing in Southwest Dallas, which include the cities of DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Duncanville, and Lancaster can participate in NAUEP's signature protocol program, the Teen Excellence Job Readiness Course, which is specifically designed to introduce teens 14-18 years old to the hospitality industry, business and workplace etiquette.

Participants of Teen Excellence will attend bi-weekly 90-minute workshops that introduce basic etiquette and protocol, customer service skills, hosting and greeting, food service and much more. In addition to classroom instruction, students will also gain valuable hands-on experience by participating in local community events.

"With a strengthening global economy and business success determined by customer service, we at NAUEP see the need for comprehensive hospitality training beginning with teens," said Trenette Wilson (aka Lady T), NAUEP founder and CEO. "Our goal is to equip teens with the necessary protocol and hospitality skills needed to be successful in the workplace and create better job opportunities for them," continued Wilson.
